periASTY addresses a critical gap in Europe’s climate transition: the integration of peri-urban areas into decarbonisation efforts. Peri-urban areas, which connect cities with their wider regions, face distinct challenges such as dispersed populations, inefficient energy consumption with limited renewable integration, less effective waste collection strategies, and governance tools focused on city centres rather than whole Functional Urban Areas (FUAs).
In the periASTY project, MobiLysis contributes in traffic monitoring and analysis to support EV demand forecasting to the Sisslerfeld Living Lab. It also contributes by supporting the analysis and simulation of innovative mobility services. MobiLysis will develop and apply data-driven and traffic optimization methods to assess potential fleet operations and demand-responsive transport scenarios, helping evaluate their operational performance and impacts on traffic efficiency and sustainability.
